Accessibility Statement
Last updated: February 2026
Ability Directory is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disability. As a directory that serves NDIS participants, we recognise that accessibility is not optional — it is fundamental to our purpose.
Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines are referenced by the Australian Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) as the benchmark for web accessibility in Australia.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
- Ensure sufficient colour contrast ratios for text and interactive elements
- Provide text alternatives for non-text content
- Support keyboard navigation throughout the site
- Use clear, plain language — avoiding jargon where possible and explaining NDIS terminology when used
- Design responsive layouts that work across devices and screen sizes
- Ensure forms have visible labels, error messages, and clear instructions
Known limitations
We are a small team and our site is continuously improving. Some areas where we are still working to improve accessibility include:
- Embedded Google Maps on provider pages may have limited accessibility — we provide the address as text alongside the map
- Some older content may not yet meet our current accessibility standards
- We are working to improve screen reader compatibility across all interactive components
